Deconstructing social norms, religious backgrounds & familial expectations can bring pain, shame, guilt, isolation, avoidance, substance abuse & self-harm. this piece is a part of a mini collection for pride
designed during a week long art residency at cedar north in collaboration with crosshatch for the long memory project then sewn at the shop in suttons bay
the collection released at a group show in commongrounds on june 15 to celebrate queer artists & the stories of queer elders in michigan – the residency held space for elders & artists to share stories & create art based on those memories / experiences
