She completely emptied out her closet & restarted with feminine business formal to continue her career. Avoiding her gender identity felt like the important choice to keep her career & wife but now, after transitioning, she still has both & gets to be completely herself. The coat showcases her discarding the clothes of her past.

designed during a week long art residency at cedar north in collaboration with crosshatch for the long memory project then sewn at the shop in suttons bay

the collection released at a group show in commongrounds on june 15 to celebrate queer artists & the stories of queer elders in michigan – the residency held space for elders & artists to share stories & create art based on those memories / experiences
