Autumn in Leelanau
Autumn in Leelanau is a few weeks respite when the local community shares a collective sigh with the landscape. After a summer of walking – no, running – in synchronicity with the bustling tourists, it's refreshing to bring connection back to the earth amidst the slowing down. While the pendulum of summer & winter energies divide locals' perspectives, autumn in Leelanau is something we can all agree upon.
Full autumnal beauty onsite at IndieGrow Flower Farm. A styled shoot captured by Mae Stier showcased warm tones in floral & tablescape. Pottery by Schyler the Potter paired beautifully with glassware from Poppy Things & Eelo napkins. Ceramic artistry by Alyssa Smith served as place settings & favors.
Pairing quilted jackets with autumn just feels right –
Transitional seasons in Northern Michigan beg for layering & cozy outerwear. Whether it’s for morning coffee or errands, these jackets serve as the perfect addition to everyone’s fall wardrobe.

This season has me switching gears a little bit. Keeping the racks stocked with inventory gets pushed to the back burner. Custom work pushes to the forefront, with quilted orders piling up from the summer inquiries. This is a major improvement from a year ago, when there were 2 orders queued up. Now, there are 12 & my estimated timeline on completing those creeps past the new year. I think this leaves me hopeful for the incoming slow season, arguably already upon us in Northern Michigan. Seasonally fluctuating income leaves many small businesses feeling financially insecure. Even after a busy summer, the unknown of winter sales looms but custom work eases those anxieties.
Cheers to growth in several areas, one of them being customs. Updates to come.
